Parent / Teacher Consultations

At Petham we offer parent/ teacher consultations in Term 2 and 4 to discuss your child’s progress and any concerns you may have. A few days before the consultations you will receive a report on your child's progress. In Term 2 and 4 these are short snap-shots, with a more detailed report at the end of the academic year.

If you have any concerns about your child in between, please make an appointment to discuss these with your child's teacher.

Parental help in school

We welcome all parents or grandparents who would like to help in the school. Please contact your child’s class teacher or the office if you have any spare time and would like to help.

In keeping with our Child Protection policies, regular visitors would be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Check and a senior member of staff would complete an induction session with you, which runs through our expectations, how you can help and Child Protection information.

Complaints Procedure

Whilst we always try to get things right, we don't always succeed. Parents are encouraged to contact the class teacher in the first instance should they wish to discuss any concerns; the Headteacher and Principal are available, normally by appointment, to discuss any matters relating to the school.

Should these avenues not resolve any matter satisfactorily then the Chairman of the Governing Body can be contacted via the school. If you remain dissatisfied, all parents have the legal right to contact the Secretary of State for Education. A copy of the Complaints Policy can be found on the OCMAT website.
