Safeguarding

Petham Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children, and requires staff, volunteers and visitors to share this commitment.

On our school leadership team we have four trained Designated Safeguarding staff members.

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is:

Mr Scott Guy – Executive Headteacher ([email protected])

Our Deputies are:

  • Mr James Higgins - Head of School ([email protected])
  • Mrs Belinda Metcalfe - SENDCO
  • Miss Nicola Mayes - Class Teacher
  • Miss Hannah Beasley - Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA)

The role of a DSL is to ensure that our pupils are safe both in and outside of school. If you have any worries or concerns about a situation that your child, or any other, is facing, please do not hesitate to contact us.

If your concerns relate to the actions or behaviour of a member of staff (which could suggest that s/he is unsuitable to work with children) then you should report this to one of the DSLs in confidence, (or to the CEO David Whitehead and Trust Safeguarding Lead Sarah Baker, if the concern relates to the Executive Headteacher) who will consider what action to take.

Threshold Charts

These threshold charts (Traffic Lights) are used to assist all those working with children to identify what is considered to be age appropriate, potentially harmful, or harmful behaviour.
